Merkblatt 820e: Guideline on the selection of stainless steels

The material properties corrosion resistance, strength, formability, weldability, thermal expansion and thermal conductivity of 38 stainless steels are compared in this publication. This is done in a clear form with the help of spider web diagrams. All 38 material grades are subsequently classified in Figure 1 "Strength versus corrosion resistance", Figure 2 "Formability versus corrosion resistance" and Figure 3 "Strength versus formability".
